Command Sergeant Major Weiquan Alex Ho was born in January 1970 in Canton, China. He enlisted in the Army in New York City in February 1989 after the Army recruiter convinced him that he needed “To be all that he can be.” Command Sergeant Major Ho completed Basic Training in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia in July 1989.
During his career, Command Sergeant Major Ho has held duty positions to include Administrative Noncommissioned Officer, Special Forces Junior Engineer Sergeant, Special Forces Senior Engineer Sergeant, Special Forces Team Sergeant, Company Operations Sergeant, Operational Advisor, Troop Sergeant Major, Senior Enlisted Advisor, Company Sergeant Major, and Battalion Operations Sergeant Major. His most recent assignment was as the Sergeant Major for Alpha Company 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines Task Force North Sergeant Major.
Command Sergeant Major Ho has had the privilege and honor to serve in three Special Forces Groups (1st, 3rd and 5th), the Special Warfare Center and School and the Asymmetric Warfare Group. He deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines.
Command Sergeant Major Ho has completed every Noncommissioned Officer Education System course from the Primary Leadership Development Course to the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. His military education includes the Basic Airborne Course, Ranger Course, Special Forces Engineer Sergeant Qualification Course and Jump Master Course. In addition, he also earned his Bachelor of Science Liberals Art Degree from Excelsior College.
