This team tests current and prototype night vision sensors and conducts research and development activities. These sensors include Image Intensification devices, thermal imagers, and laser systems. This team maintains a camp complex on Fort A.P. Hill and conducts year-round field and range training.

ITAM Regional Support Center - Fort A.P. Hill

Soldiers at a GIS computerThe ITAM Eastern Regional Support Center (E-RSC) at Fort A. P. Hill has been established to provide cost effective Geographic Information System (GIS) and Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) program support to more than 75 Army and National Guard installations, located both CONUS and OCONUS.

The GIS support is expressly for maximizing training readiness and sustaining of Army training lands. This is accomplished by reducing duplication costs, pooling assets, serving as a central clearing house for lessons learned and decreasing the ITAM learning curve for satellite installations.

This technical support includes manipulation of geospatial and tabular data to produce cartographic outputs (maps) for use in installation training land management and natural resource management. Support will also be made available for all aspects of the ITAM program, to include: technical advice, scope of work (SOW) development, knowledge of resources available.

6th Brigade, 80th Division Drill Sergeant School

This group conducts year-round training of U.S. Army Reserve drill sergeants for the 80th Division. The Academy is located in the Anderson Camp area of Fort A.P. Hill.

District Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (CE) Norfolk District

This group provides coordination with the Norfolk District, which administers the timber sales and agricultural land leases.

U.S. Army Health Clinic

A part of the Dewitt Army Medical Center at Fort Belvoir, Va., the clinic’s medical team provides primary medical care and ambulance service for active duty, retirees, and family members at a medical facility on Fort A.P. Hill.
