SRP GIS Regional Support Center The
mission of the SRP GIS Regional Support Center is to increase the utility
and cost effectiveness of GIS in support of the SRP, including RTLP and
ITAM, and their application through the creation, management, analysis and
distribution of authoritative standardized spatial information, products,
and services for the execution of training strategies and missions on U.S.
Army ranges and training lands.Located at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia; the SRP GIS Regional Support Center (RSC) was developed in 1997 to ensure that a standard GIS capability exists to support all SRP installations and training sites. The SRP GIS RSC provides centralized guidance on standards for data creation, collection, maintenance, storage, and distribution of SRP installations geospatial data. The overall goal of the SRP RSC is to increase efficiency throughout the program by increasing data compatibility, eliminating redundant GIS efforts, and integrating GIS databases and applications into an enterprise system. The RSC also serves as the portal for all GIS technical support. Technical support covers a wide assortment of topics to include, but is not limited to, general GIS support, Military Installation Map (MIM) and custom mapping support, and central support of all SRP GIS tools, such as the Range Managers Toolkit (RMTK), and Military Installation Mapping Toolkit (MIMT). Click here for a detailed list of RSC services and products. The TRADOC Capability Manager -Live (TCM-Live), SRP Executive Agent, serves as the central point of contact for the SRP GIS RSC program. TCM-Live is responsible for RSC contract management, identifying GIS support requirements, validating requirements, and incorporating validated requirements into RSC operations.
